About Greenwood Youth Project

A young person's circumstances shouldn't decide their future.

Greenwood Youth Project creates opportunities for young people through talks, workshops, RE:WRITE, partnerships and a network of Ambassadors.

Who decides your future?

Young people may be supported by teachers, families and the people around them — but their future should never feel predetermined.

Our mission

To help young people recognise their potential, build the skills and confidence to move forward, and see possibilities beyond their current circumstances.

Everything we do helps young people

  • Broaden their horizons
  • See what's possible
  • Build confidence
  • Develop resilience
  • Meet different people and careers
  • Recognise opportunities
  • Find a clearer direction

Our approach

How Greenwood Youth Project works.

Early, not late

We work with young people while there is still plenty of road ahead, before one difficult chapter becomes the whole story.

Respect, not rescue

Young people aren't problems to be fixed. We start from what they already have and treat their ambitions as serious.

Real people, real routes

Meeting different people and hearing about different careers, experiences and perspectives makes a future feel reachable.

In partnership

Schools and community organisations know their young people. We shape our work with them, not around them.

What we value

Honesty
We say what we mean and do what we say.
Ambition
We encourage young people to think bigger about what could be possible.
Respect
We listen, value different experiences and treat people properly.
Belonging
Everyone should feel that there is a place for them.
Responsibility
We help young people recognise the choices they can make and take ownership of what comes next.

Why Greenwood Youth Project was created

Built on experience.

Greenwood Youth Project was founded by Leon Greenwood: Olympian, GB bobsleigh athlete, former police officer and performance coach.

Greenwood Youth Project has reached more than 50,000 young people across 80+ schools and organisations, creating opportunities for young people to build confidence, broaden their horizons and see what could be possible.

Greenwood Youth Project was created to build something bigger than one person: an organisation with talks, workshops, programmes, speakers and Ambassadors that can reach young people long into the future.
